This plant from Madagascar can virtually bloom year-round in good light. Long, spoon shape leaves appear at the ends of the branches, and clusters of tiny flowers appear on stalks at the ends of the branches. The flowers are tiny and are surrounded by a pair of bright red, yellow, or salmon bracts. Each stem is
covered with small, sharp spines.
